No Time to be Discouraged

March 22nd, 2010

In an online conversation with a freedom-loving person yesterday morning, and in the context of what we must do in 2010 and 2012 elections, she asked me, “Do you think we’ll make it?” This spurred me to consider how we should think about our days ahead.

Paraphrasing my response to her:

Guessing at what “might be” is not our path. We shall think, act, learn, teach, lead, and pray - follow the course that is right. Led by our conscience we will dedicate our efforts to do good even though we cannot expect a guarantee of any given outcome. The constant battle for liberty holds its risks, but it provides the possibility of freedom. Doing nothing, or giving up hope, guarantees a condition of slavery.

The person to whom I made these comments was encouraged by them, and that is why I share them with you now.

Now, continuing on these thoughts:

At any point in any real fight for life and liberty, it does not matter what we guess to be our chances of success. We should not spend a moment asking ourselves that question. To the ideals that have brought us such a bountiful life, and to our children, their children, our countrymen, and to the decent people of other countries who today live in bondage, we owe our best and complete effort to do the right thing, at each moment, to preserve, restore and secure freedom. The outcome shall always be uncertain, but our determination must be completely certain — merely because, intrinsically it is the good and right thing to do.

I am not attempting to set any kind of expectation of level of activism. We all have our complete and complex lives to lead. However, do what you can, rearrange priorities (as many of you already have), step out of your comfort zone, perhaps meet with others, help them to understand what is at stake, and help them consider ways that they can engage for positive effect.

Prepare for the second front to be opened. That front will be “Amnesty” for illegal immigrants or imposition of economically destructive carbon tax.

The Battle is Joined

March 22nd, 2010

On the lawn, south of the Capitol, a battle of the never-ending fight for Liberty continued. The main effort, to the bitter end, was accomplished by a group of about 300. There were several attempts by Leftists to hinder our efforts and to demoralize us. However, we adapted to those attempts and learned how to be better prepared next time.

Below is a video of post-vote statements made by Congressman Steve King and Congresswoman Michele Bachmann. Their remarks provide a very clear vision of what America needs to do to get back to our roots of self-reliance and Freedom.

The comment feature of this video has been disabled due to the vulgar Leftist insanity that was being posted to it. Consider this interesting observation: The Left got their Socialized Health Care Bill through Congress, one might think they would be happy. However, one would be mistaken. Based on the comments posted on the previous version of this video, the ugliness, anger and hatred of the Left, directed at decent people, is simply breathtaking.  They succeed at installing their unconstitutional agenda, and they are still angry and full of hatred for who they see as “vile conservatives.”  Their “fix” had no effect.  It should have absolutely no wonder about why “Leftisms” always become murderous regimes; the monster’s hunger is never satisfied.

Because of Our Love for Them

precious_children

This is a real quick post before departing back to Capitol Hill.

A precious family joined us on The Hill yesterday. They were included in the voices that were heard, voices calling for Freedom and rejecting the chains of tyranny.

The mother of these precious babes was carefully and expertly explaining to them the meaning of all of this; not just of the protest, but of the concept of keeping ‘government’ in check.

More to follow later.

A Day in the Life of A Patriot

March 19th, 2010

At approximately 11:45 a.m., on March 19th 2010, a friend and I were walking between sections of Parking Lot A on the George Mason University Fairfax campus.  We encountered a two-lane street that bisects the parking lot. My friend paused at the near side of the intersection to adjust a load she was carrying and began to cross the street.  Under my arm, I was carrying a non-partisan political sign that I had previously displayed at a rally in opposition to contentious legislation.  At the time of this incident, I was not intentionally or overtly displaying the sign.

At the point where I was crossing the street, there is a narrow divider between the two lanes.  As I crossed the first lane, I noticed a small-size, blue SUV approaching in the second lane.  I stopped near the divider to yield to the vehicle.  After I was stopped in-place near the divider, the driver of the SUV stopped about 15 feet short of my crossing path.  The driver of the SUV then motioned to me to cross in front of his vehicle that was now at a complete stop.  In an expeditious fashion, I began to cross in front of the stopped vehicle.  When I was about two steps into the lane, I heard the engine of SUV rev, the horn sounded, and with my peripheral vision, I sensed the SUV rapidly approaching.  I quickly ran out of the path of the SUV.  As the SUV proceeded beyond me, a man leaned his head out of the open passenger side window and laughed.  I shouted a remark at the man.  The driver and the passenger of the vehicle were both male, in their mid-twenties, and had features indicating they were of Middle-Eastern descent.

Into the Mind of “Them”

March 15th, 2010

On Twitter, I recently had an interchange with a person who is representative of Obama’s base, agenda and methods.  Through the exposition of these ideas, the radical and dangerous nature of the Obama agenda again comes into view.

Breathtaking is the readiness of this person to depart from logical progression.  Chilling is his/her (this is merely a patronizing use of PC) dedication to something that he/she describes as being just this side of totalitarianism.  Here, I will recount the interchange.

Admittedly, I apparently provoked the dialog.  Without that, we would not have this opportunity for analysis and insight.

I saw this ObamaPerson (not his/her real Twitter name) posting to some conservative tweeters that I follow.  My comment was a bit of a critique of his/her lack of intellectual integrity.

ObamaPerson responded with:

Calling 52% of voters, 80% of media, & 95% of University Professors uneducated? Really? MSNBC calling us brilliant!

I sent a few replies that included these points: 1) History has many examples of nations being led to ruin by their purported intellectuals; 2) Now that Obama is showing more of his real self, Americans, to include many who voted for him, are rejecting his policies and his methods – I provided a link to the most recent Rasmussen poll; 3) I pointed out that “media” people and most university professors spend little time in the real world of producing things of useful value; 4) Then, to up the ante a bit, I informed ObamaPerson that while he/she is tracking a course toward peril, we Americans will be further preparing to school the ObamaPersons – then I threw in a little question, asking how many viewers tuned into MSNBC last week.

Most of my points went unanswered, but ObamaPerson did key in on the poll data, in a way.  Recall that ObamaPerson began the dialog by citing numbers of Obama supporters from narrow fields (probably dated data as well) — kinda’ looks like “Polling Data” to me.  However, now that I provide current poll numbers, ObamaPerson changes tack and claims that poll numbers are meaningless.  So, intellectual integrity goes out the window when it leads to the “wrong” conclusion.  Still, apparently being proud of his/her conviction, ObamaPerson cuts to the chase. Read this carefully.  Read it three times:

Polls [are] not relevant. People don’t know what is in their best interest. We will Decree health reform if necessary!
